CPR or the cardiopulmonary resuscitation is a
first-aid method that can revive and keep alive those persons who suffer from
sudden cardiac arrest or other emergency conditions to avoid brain damage until
help arrives from more advanced medical team.see here for details www.lifesupport-rcms.co.uk
The 2 Main Goals of CPR
· To sustain the oxygen flowing in and out of the lungs
· To sustain oxygenated blood flowing through the entire body
While modern emergency rooms have high-technology equipment and a resource of drugs to help treat those people who unfortunately suffer from breathing and cardiac emergencies, cardiopulmonary system is an easy technique that most people, even those laypersons can do with minimal or no equipment.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation or CPR has various types. The one you would perform will depend on the training level you have and your access to lifesaving supports.
The Various Levels of CPR
· Untrained Persons
If you have never been on CPR training before or you have never known about it, that will still not exempt you from reviving a lifeless person. You can perform the hands-only resuscitation. This is the type of CPR where it does not involve blowing with or without respiration. It only needs application of uninterrupted compressions on the person’s chest at an approximate rate of 100 compressions every minute until the emergency responders arrive.click here to know more.
· Trained, but Rusty
This case, even though you have been on a training before and know some knowledge about it but you remain unsure of your CPR skills, then experts would recommend that you only apply the hands-only resuscitation procedure.
· Trained and Confident
If you have attended a CPR class and sure of your skills and can administer resuscitation with confidence, then you are recommended to perform chest compression in synchronization with rescue breathing.
· Trained with Access to Defibrillator
When you have an access to automatic external
defibrillator, then you can give one shock per equipment’s instructions and
start with CPR.
